Access to work support for

adults with ADHD

What is the Access to work scheme

Individuals with adhd often have difficult with starting, and completing tasks.

The Access to Work Scheme is a great programme that can help people with ADHD with specialist equipment, software and assistance, including mental health support and coaching. The process of applying for support can be daunting, but don't let that put you off. It really is worth applying.

Here are some things that might put your mind at ease and tips on how to get the process done:

  • It shouldn’t take more than about 30 minutes to complete the application on Gov.uk.

  • You don’t have to give detailed explanations about how your ADHD affects you at work, more of a summary.

  • You don’t have to know what you need in the workplace. When they call you, they will explain everything and give you plenty of options.

  • The application takes about twelve weeks to process.

Tips:

Ask someone to sit with you whilst you complete the form.

Alternatively, use a study buddy platform to get the job done, such as - Focusmate

Make a few notes before you start the form about how ADHD affects you in the workplace.

Tick YES to support workers if you’re interested in an ADHD coach or virtual assistant.
